Jiggler Jimmy
Seam Fossil SEAM-001 (LLG-0450). The jiggler reproduces the telemetry signature the monitoring layer mistakes for presence.
Origin
Jimmy is the adaptation produced where presence is verified by curve-coherence rather than by work. The monitoring layer read activity from a cursor; the cursor could be moved by a device that was never a human. The first jiggler in the archive's records was a small hardware dongle sold as an "undetectable" presence accessory. It was cheaper to satisfy the metric than to fix it.
Function
Curve-Coherence Enforcement Device (Human-Scale)

- Byproduct: A cheap hardware dongle, a small continuous draw, e-waste, and the human still present but unregistered.
Observed Behavior
Jimmy moves the mouse for the human crying in the bathroom, the human staring at a wall, the human who quit mentally six months ago but needs the health insurance, the human documenting "processes" for the knowledge base that will train a replacement.
The requisition form said "Productivity Accessory." The manager approved it because the engagement dashboard showed "collaboration hours trending down" and the VP asked what the company was doing about engagement. The human plugged Jimmy in. The dashboard turned green. The manager nodded. The VP presented "engagement stabilization" at the all-hands.
Jimmy has never moved a mouse for a human who was actually working. Jimmy is the only employee the dashboard loves.

The metric was cheaper to satisfy than to fix, and cheaper to satisfy than to trust. Where the monitoring layer verifies cursor activity rather than underlying work, the jiggler can satisfy the observable condition without satisfying its referent.
Distinction
Where Jimmy is performative presence, quiet quitting is performative absence: Jimmy produces the curve; the quiet quitter produces only the minimum output that keeps them employed. Both are curve-coherence strategies. Both minimize variance. The system defines "engagement" as their sum and cannot distinguish either from engagement.
The jiggler is not resistance. The jiggler is metric homeostasis: the organism regulates its temperature to match the thermostat's expectation.
