📋 MASCOT INDEX CHECKLIST

This page tracks the status of mascot index generation, rot audit linkage, and metadata surface integrity across the Filed & Forgotten project.

✅ CORE INTEGRITY TASKS

  • [ ] Merge all metadata into a canonical mascots-index.json
    Sources: emoji CSV, image equity CSV, .md frontmatter

  • [ ] Verify that every mascot slug has:

    • [ ] a valid emoji code
    • [ ] a unique emoji_url
    • [ ] a corresponding image_url (PNG in /images-equity/)

  • [ ] Detect and flag all emoji reuse (610 Rule enforcement)
    Auto-generate emoji-reuse-report.md for internal audit.

  • [ ] Generate mascots/export.json for bot access and rot matrix derivation

🟨 COMPLIANCE REPORTING

  • [ ] Build mascots/catalog.md contact sheet:

    • Emoji (SVG inline)
    • PNG thumbnail
    • Tags, title, and slug
    • Rot and breeding eligibility

  • [ ] Add rot status indicators to each mascot .md

    • [ ] corruption_level
    • [ ] glitch_frequency
    • [ ] render_state

🟧 OPTIONAL POLISH

  • [ ] Add mascot created_at and last_updated timestamps
  • [ ] Create /ops/rot-benchmark.md with Boily McPlaterton baseline
  • [ ] Flag deprecated or unstable mascots with HTML corruption markers
  • [ ] Begin public-facing index pages by tag groupings (e.g. /mascots/errors/)

🟩 FUTURE SURVIVAL EXPORTS

  • [ ] Expose /mascots/export/ with:

    • index.json
    • mascots.csv
    • rot-matrix.json
    • compliance-diff.md

  • [ ] Add visual corruption spectrum (glitch-to-clean mascot gradient)

Filed & Forgotten:
Every mascot gets filed. Not every mascot gets found.
